Summer is right around the corner! If you haven’t already got your beach playlist ready, then Phoenix Melody‘s “Be the One” is a great place to start.
Phoenix first appeared on the Australian version of The X Factor in 2013 (where she reached the semi-finals) and “Be the One” is Phoenix‘s first proper offering as a solo artist since her stint on the show. Unlike the Dua Lipa bop of the same name, Phoenix‘s “Be the One” is a seductive mingling of Afrobeats rhythms and a murky synth bass, which escalate to “Be the One”’s massive club-ready chorus. “My music really reflects my personality. I’m laid-back, but also super outgoing,” the Sydney based beaut remarked on her sound, which definitely comes through in “Be the One”.
Despite the single’s tragic artwork, Phoenix definitely has a smash on her hands with “Be the One”!
