DIY newcomer Nora Lilith has shared her new single “Flesh” – a sultry, brooding electronic ode to the self-conversations you have between mind and body.
The latest in a series of new offerings described by the underground artist as “blending fluid, liquid-like soundscapes with metallic tones,” “Flesh” sees Nora embody every aspect of being a DIY artist by writing, producing and releasing “Flesh” independently.
Expanding on the song, Nora explains: “Flesh is a conversation between oneself and one’s body- particularly the stories and memories embedded deep within our flesh. It explores how we navigate the world not only as our present selves but also through the rich tapestry of our life’s biography. The messages that are carried through our flesh can feel heavy and limiting, echoing past traumas, but the capacity for deep unwinding pleasure and power is also woven into our bones and in this exploration is the unfolding of a relationship; the trials and errors of mending the pain through sculpting better access to portals of somatic joy.”
Raised with one foot in Berlin, Germany and the other in Austin, Texas, the self-proclaimed “singing succubus” reflects the movement and disparity of her own life in her music. Teaching herself how to use Ableton, Nora began producing on her own and is known to use field recordings and her own voice to create instruments and textured soundscapes.
An exciting new name with tons of potential – stay tuned for more from Nora Lilith.
