2024 is shaping up as a breakout year for Norwegian pop sensation MAIH. The Dale native, known for her emotionally raw lyrics and earworm melodies, has just released her highly anticipated debut EP, For all of the times I broke my own heart, via DUR/Playground Music Scandinavia.
Since graduating from Norway’s renowned music school LIMPI, where she honed her craft under the mentorship of industry heavyweights like Emily Warren and Stargate, MAIH has steadily carved her path in the world of Scandipop. With her latest project, she’s firmly cementing her place as one of the genre’s most exciting emerging voices.
The EP chronicles the peaks and valleys of heartbreak and self-discovery with a blend of lyrical vulnerability and infectious hooks. Tracks like the soaring “What I Know Now” radiate hope and resilience, while “Close To Dying” and “Your Terms” capture the melancholy of love lost, all underscored by production that begs for repeat listens. The collection also introduces new gems “Nobody Gets Me” and “Star:Crossed,” adding depth to MAIH’s already compelling sonic narrative.
“Each track represents a moment of healing,” MAIH shares. “It’s a raw journey through heartbreak, self-doubt, and the messy beauty of growth. These songs are about reclaiming the parts of me I thought I had lost, and finding strength in the scars.”
MAIH’s knack for blending confessional storytelling with pristine pop production has drawn comparisons to Norwegian contemporaries Sigrid and Astrid S, as well as international stars like Julia Michaels. With For all of the times I broke my own heart, MAIH is proving herself as a songwriter and performer poised for international recognition.
