Alt-pop powerhouse BANKS has released her poignant new single, “Best Friends.”

The track dives deep into the anguish of friendship breakups, weaving a raw narrative of love and loss. BANKS explains, “‘Best Friends’ is about the complexities of friendship, growing up, and growing apart. It’s a grief we often don’t know how to process because we’re rarely taught how to mourn a friend like we would a romantic partner.”

The single follows her recent release, “I Hate Your Ex-Girlfriend” featuring Doechii, and offers a taste of her forthcoming album, Off With Her Head, set for release on February 28, 2025. Described by BANKS as a “big sister album to Goddess,” the record marks a reunion with the collaborators who shaped her debut while capturing her evolution as an artist and individual.

In addition to new material, BANKS is celebrating the 10th anniversary of her debut album with the December 13 release of Goddess Unplugged, an acoustic reimagining of the gold-certified classic. The milestone has also been commemorated with sold-out intimate shows in iconic venues across London, New York, Los Angeles, and Melbourne.

With a deeply personal and universally resonant message, “Best Friends” continues to showcase BANKS’ unparalleled ability to turn vulnerability into art. Fans can stream the new single now and look forward to what promises to be one of her most compelling projects to date with Off With Her Head.
