Watch out world – legendary Mandopop diva Jolin Tsai recently teamed up with renowned hitmaker Alesso for a double whammy bop experience!
Part 1 is Alesso’s remix of Jolin’s monster hit “PLAY”, which has racked up over 21 million YouTube views since its 2014 release date. With plenty of croaking synths and rave horns, it’s an explosive club mix. The mix stays true to the original by starting as a gritty yet sexual twerk anthem, which Alesso then switches up by erupting the banger into an energetic EDM climax. Have a listen below:
Next up is Jolin’s version of the comedown anthem “I Wanna Know”. “Where do we go from here?”, Jolin gently asks over a euphoric mix of melancholic guitar riffs and mellow piano chords. The original version, featuring vocals from Norwegian duo Nico & Vinz, has amassed over 43 million streams on Spotify since it dropped in April earlier this year, so here’s hoping Jolin’s version sees similar success.
