Seattle’s trap princess EMI is back with her first single of 2017 “Like Us”.
“Like Us” is another moreish bop from the soft-voiced chanteuse. The simplistic yet very poignant melody of the warped, atmospheric keys weaves through the chilled Bobby Raps, Charlie Handsome & Rex Kudo-produced bass beat to create a spacey, cool vibe. EMI slickly delivers the metaphor laden lyrics of “Like Us” with ease, such as the addictive bop’s opening line, “I’m attracted to power yea you could say I’m the plug“.
“Like Us” follows a flurry of singles dropped throughout 2016, including the platinum-on-Spotify bop “Sip It Slow”.
