London-based Indonesian artist LEDI has unveiled her stunning debut EP, She’s 24, offering a compelling introduction to her unique sound and vision. The EP features two previously unreleased tracks, “Nothing New Under The Sun” and “Who I Was,” both of which highlight her artistry and storytelling prowess.
Grounded in a jazz background, LEDI’s music effortlessly blends R&B, soul, bossa nova, and pop, creating a timeless release inspired by the highs and lows of navigating life in her mid-twenties. The EP’s focus track, “Nothing New Under The Sun,” produced by fellow jazz artist James Berkeley, sees LEDI reflecting on fleeting love and the bittersweet cycles of romance. “It’s a reminder that it’s all just part of life’s cycle,” she shares.
The EP’s opener, “Who I Was,” is equally intimate. The track, which was the first song LEDI ever completed, captures the moment of seeing an ex after a breakup. “Ever since I wrote it, I’ve been on this journey of healing and finding myself,” LEDI explains. Meanwhile the title track, She’s 24, released earlier this year, adds a touch of euphoria, celebrating the highs of her coming-of-age years.
Since debuting in 2023, LEDI has already made waves with her smooth vocals and evocative songwriting. She’s performed at London’s Royal Opera House and headlined in her hometown of Jakarta. Fans can experience her live magic when she headlines The Forge at The Lower Third on January 29, in collaboration with Global Soul.
Drawing inspiration from Laufey, Stevie Wonder, Olivia Dean, and bossa nova legends like Antonio Carlos Jobim, LEDI is proudly carving out a space for Indonesian talent on the global stage. With She’s 24, she’s proving that her voice is one to watch.
