Hotly-tipped newcomer Gia Ford has shared her fantastic debut album, Transparent Things.
A timeless classic in the making, Transparent Things is a shining collection of what makes the future star feel so exciting: deeply rich storytelling, wistful production and Ford’s raved about vocal stylings.
Fronted by the recent singles “Try Changing”, ”Poolside” and “Paint Me Like a Woman”, Transparent Things is rounded out by standout new offerings, like the divine “Housewife Dreams of America” – which also comes with gloriously vintage visuals.
Recorded in LA at the renowned Sound City Studios, Transparent Things promises to tell the stories of figures on the fringes of society – which in turn begin to reveal uncomfortable truths about ourselves: “Most of the characters in these songs are outcasts, all with unique ways of feeling on the periphery, somehow. Thematically it has a mythical quality, stemming from the repeated references to creatures, ghosts and undefined spirits. It’s a world of its own, where the characters have more in common than I initially thought was possible,” Ford says of Transparent Things.
Transparent Things is proof that a bright future lies ahead for Gia Ford. The budding star is also set to hit the road in November for a headline UK tour – see below for tour dates and listen to Transparent Things here.
