CardiB

History has been made today, ladies.

With “Bodak Yellow” rising to the #1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100, Bronx rapper Cardi B has gone from being a hit Vine maker to a hit rap star.

“Bodak Yellow” makes Cardi B, who rose to fame by starring in Love & Hip Hop: New York, only the second female rapper in Billboard history to top the Hot 100 without any other billed artists, following Lauryn Hill‘s “Doo Wop (That Thing)” in November 1998. Cardi B is only the fifth female rapper ever to lead the Hot 100 at all, following Lil’ Kim, Shawnna and Iggy Azalea.

As if that wasn’t impressive enough, “Bodak Yellow” hitting the top spot means Cardi has dethroned Taylor Swift, who has been reigning the charts with her bop “Look What You Made Me Do”.

Let’s see if Cardi is here to stay!
