London’s heavy synth-pop innovators KYROS are making waves once again with their new mini-EP, Fear & Love, out today on all digital platforms. The release comes fresh off the band’s standout performance at ProgStock Festival in the US, signaling a bold new chapter for the quartet.
The title track, Fear & Love, blends hypnotic synth-pop with touches of prog-metal, spotlighting front-woman Shelby Logan Warne’s masterful production and poignant songwriting. The deeply personal break-up anthem explores the highs and lows of modern queer relationships, marking a turning point for both Logan Warne and the band.
“Fear & Love marks a new chapter in more than just one way,” says Logan Warne. “As well as being a very personal song for me, it also represents a shift in KYROS’s direction as we say goodbye to the Mannequin era and hello to the future.”
With its vivid visuals inspired by Peter Gabriel’s iconic Sledgehammer video and a modern synth-pop aesthetic reminiscent of Magdalena Bay, the accompanying music video directed by Dan Stokes is also set to captivate fans.
The EP also features the soaring 10-minute B-side, Duchess Desire, a track born during the sessions for their last album, Mannequin. “It was the first song we recorded with Charlie Cawood on bass,” explains drummer Robin Johnson. “It didn’t fit the flow of the album, but it’s a significant milestone for us.”
KYROS’s influence extends beyond their music. With two trans/non-binary members, including Logan Warne, the band is a leading name in London’s thriving queer-fronted rock scene. Their synth-heavy sound and massive pop production continue to break barriers, drawing a growing fanbase that has doubled in recent months.
Produced and mixed by Logan Warne, the EP also reflects her prowess as a co-owner of Sensible Music Studios in London. Across social media, she shares insights on running a studio and navigating music production as a biracial Asian woman in a traditionally male-dominated field.
